What Does God Require ?

The basic and only requirements for the Christian man is his faith in Christ and the agape love of his fellow man. Theological knowledge of God comes secondary to this. But what what is faith in Christ? If one loves another, regardless of doctrine, regardless of the faith of a Jesus as more than a man, apart from all religion, accepting the Jew, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Taoist & etc, accepting all sexual orientation, culture and race. Is that not faith and love? Unconditional love has no conditions. The moment you require a person to go through the divinity of Christ is moment you have put a condition on love. Unconditional requires no religious belief, no requirement of a blood sacrifice, no interpretation. Yet in the depths of this midst, in the center of this void exists love and compassion.

Away from organized religion, deep theology and the hard works of sacrifices exists the ability to forgive, respect, show compassion, be non-judgmental, put up with the false intent, suffer from evil.

Jack Deer reveals what knowing God is:

"It took me too long to learn that knowing the Bible is not the same as knowing God, loving the Bible is not the same as loving God and reading the Bible is not the same as hearing God. What I am saying is that it is possible to put almost any good thing above Jesus Christ without realizing what we are doing. We can put the Bible and its commandments above the Lord. We can put the spiritual gifts and even various kinds of worship above the Lord. We can put various forms of ministry-witnessing, caring for the poor, praying for the sick-above the Lord. The essence of all of life is loving God and then loving his people." (Matthew 22:36-40) (1)

The "Truth" Can Be Simple, Or Unknown

Simple enough for a child, incomprehensible for a scholar.

Despite all the theology, religious requirements and external sacrifices, "the love of Christ surpasses knowledge." The deeper things have their place, yet the experience of love is far surpassing and incomprehensible, far from languistic explanations that fail to articulate such truth. Religion, on the other hand, becomes blinded into structure, theology, legalism, fundamentalism and loose balance and suddenly a doctrine must be accepted to find peace with God. But all the correct theology in the world doesn't replace unconditional love. (Eph 3:19)

"God is love" and "those who know love are both born from God and know God." In order to know love and in return know God, is to love self and all. To hate self for all. To loose self in God. To find self in God. To let go of truth as unttainable, inable to grasp as a possesion. To allow it to pass by and blow its breeze over.
(1 John 4:7, 8; Hebrews 11:6; Romans 2:14-16; 8)
